Day 1 Marrakech – Imlil –Toubkal Refuge
Trekking day excursion Marrakech Toubkal, Early in the morning we transfer to Imlil where we meet the muleteers. We commence our hike by climbing to the village of Aremd. Along the way you will notice the lovely views across the terraced farmland with it’s irrigation channels. We continue to Marabout Sidi Chemharouch to reach the Toubkal Refuge at 3200m after 5 hours of walking. We spend the night here in the shelter.
Day 2 Toubkal Refuge-Toubkal summit-Toubkal Refuge
We start early to enjoy the freshness of the morning and ascend, for three hours, the highest peak in North Africa without major difficulty. From the top of Mount Toubkal (4167m) the view is spectacular! We can see as far as th Massif of Siroua as well as the plains of Marrakech. After a break we begin our two and a half hour descent and return to share lunch at the refuge. You are free to enjoy the afternoon in this peaceful and relaxing environment.
Day 3 Refuge of Toubkal -Imlil-Marrakech
After breakfast we enjoy a gradual descent along the same mule track to the Marabout Sidi Chemharouch. This site, under a white painted rock, is significant for this religious leader who is renowned for healing spiritual diseases ’The King of the Devils’. We lunch at Imlil, at a height of 1750m before continuing our descent of around 4 hours. At approximately 1pm we return to Marrakech.
