Private Tour Morocco Atlantic Cost
Casablanca – Agadir – Essaouira – Marrakech
8 DAYS/7 NIGHTS
DAY 1 – CASABLANCA
Welcome to Morocco. We meet you at our modern airport and assist you with your transit to your
hotel in Casablanca . At night you will be thrilled by our visit to the wonderful mosque of Hassan II.
Built over the sea, it is illuminated at night with a laser which projects towards Makkah from its
towering minaret. This evening you will enjoy a traditional dinner in Casablanca before settling for a
restful night in anticipation of our adventures tomorrow.
DAY 2 CASABLANCA – MARRAKECH
We start after breakfast this morning with a sightseeing trip of Casablanca. This is the largest city in
Morocco and is considered the economic capital of the world. As such you will notice the wealth and
Modernity, particularly in the Anfa Quarter.
We will be able to see the mosque of Hassan II in daylight today as we visit the boulevard of the
Corniche of Casablanca. This broad green promenade offers a fresh escape from the busy city and a
great opportunity for us to take a stroll, watching the seabirds swoop and feed whilst huge waves
crash against the sea wall. The range of cafés, restaurants and ice-cream parlours make it difficult to
choose between their delicious menus, should you wish to linger for a while and take in the
Later in the day we journey to Casablanca where Jemaa el Fna is like a welcoming party awaiting our
arrival from Casa. Twinkling lights hammered from brass and silver guide our way through the
bustling streets as they swing from their stalls reflecting on inlaid wooden furniture and other
artisan products arranged beneath. People of all ages wander safely and comfortably through the
medina at night enjoying the sounds of the Berber rhythms; the traditional games played by adults
and children alike, the wonderful ice-cream and milkshakes with new flavours to try and countless
stalls displaying traditional Moroccan food. At the same time street entertainers and performers
keep everyone entertained. Dinner tonight will be in Marrakech and your hotel will be a place of
relaxation before one more day to explore the sights and delights of the city.
DAY 3 MARRAKECH
We awaken this morning to breakfast in our hotel before the city enlivens us with its unique and
unforgettable buzz. Jemaa el Fna has a different feeling during the day, lively of course, but now a
dancing rainbow of colours which the dark of the evening conceals. We wander across the square to
visit the prominent Koutoubia Mosque. With its classic Moroccan architecture the fascinating
minaret is detailed in its design and is the best example of only three Almohad towers worldwide,
(the others being in Sevilleand Rabat). Amongst other features the building is decorated with Kufic
script, ceramic work and interestingly shaped horseshoe arched windows.
Medersa Ben Yousef is our next place of interest. This Quranic School is so highly decorated as to
amaze anyone who enters. The Zellij tiles are spectacular; the woodwork of superb quality and the
stucco is magnificent. One can’t help but wonder at the hours the craftsmen worked to create such a
vision! Outside the breathtaking architecture continues as a series of highly decorated arches
and columns line a courtyard which exudes peace.
We have some free time now to take lunch at any of the many restaurants before we regroup this
afternoon. Having relaxed a little we make our way to Bahia Palace, be prepared to be
overwhelmed once more by the majesty of the design. The facades contrast with those of the
medersa but again is absolutely incredible!
We have many tales to share with you about the history and legends that pertain to The Saadiens
Tombs which we visit this afternoon but for now we keep you in suspense.
Our dinner tonight is in Marrakech before we spend the night here also.
DAY 4 MARRAKECH – OUARZAZATE
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel this morning before we leave Marrakech to travel the winding road
that leads to the charismatic little town of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. This is a site to enthrall film buffs
with so many scenes having been filmed here including some from ‘The Sheltering Sky’, ‘Gladiator’
and ‘Babel’ as well as some scenes in the more recent television series ‘Game of Thrones’. Only four
families now reside within traditional Moroccan clay houses, which in themselves are quite
intriguing. Ait Ben Haddou is an ancient fortified village and listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.
You are free to lunch locally before we continue our exploration. Next we visit Kasbah Taourirt,
which was the residence of the Pasha Glaoui. The dramatic ochre tones of Kasbah have been the
backdrop to many a film. Indeed this is small town represents the gateway to Morocco’s Hollywood.
Our evening meal will be in Ouarzazate where we will also spend the night in a hotel.
DAY 5 OUARZAZATE – TAROUDANT
This morning we leave Ouarzazate after breakfast to continue on the oasis route towards Taroudant
in the mid Atlas Mountains. This city is surrounded by a colossal crenellated sandstone wall which
complements the many ancient buildings squeezed together within it. The whole complex rises
dramatically on the horizon as if from nowhere. In the middle of the city you will find a large central
square, where locals relax in the shade of the trees and where you are free to take lunch. There are
also many shops selling traditional products and an intriguing array of spices to explore.
We spent the night in this Oasis town after enjoying dinner here.
DAY 6 TAROUDANT – AGADIR
From the mountains we set off after breakfast through the desert and down the mountains towards
the coastal town of Agadir. This magical city couldn’t compare more starkly with Taroudant! We
spend the day exploring the city.
You will find a wide promenade running alongside the broad swathes of sand on its crescent beach.
Modern buildings of exquisite design line the streets yet hidden among them are the traditional
gems of the city such as the souq and hilltop city wall from where there are superb views over the
Atlantic. Agadir has elaborate and uniquely modern mosque which contrasts with those you have
seen in Marrakech or the mountain towns.
Tonight you may enjoy a stroll along the beautiful seafront this evening as the sun sets and the lights
come onto illuminate the city. Tonight we dine and sleep in modern Agadir.
DAY 7 AGADIR – ESSAOUIRA
Enjoy your breakfast this morning in Agadir before we travel on towards the port of Essaouira. This is
without doubt one of the loveliest seaside towns in all Morocco. The maze of enchanting tree lined
streets in the Medina are surrounded by 18th century cannon lined rampart walls which themselves
are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This is the ideal place to relax and unwind after your
adventures and a town that it is difficult not to fall in love with! You are free to take lunch in the
here today perhaps enjoying some fresh seafood before before a little haggling in the souq.
Wrap up well for a stroll along the curved seafront which uncovers a quaint habour full of blue
painted fishing boats. Essaouira has long been a fishing port and it retains its charm as such when
you see the fishermen mending their nets and the days catch coming in. It is certainly picture worthy
and soothing for the soul although renowned for being windy, and extremely popular with wind
Tonight we dine in Essaouira and overnight here.
